1 Week Before: Your Beauty Prep

With your event just approaching, it’s time to start your beauty and skincare preparations! 

Complete your beauty checklist

Are you planning on having a facial, lash extensions, a fresh manicure, or a hair makeover? Get those booked at least 72 hours before your tan session. You want to give your skin and nails breathing room before applying your tan.

Hair removal

If waxing is your go-to for silky, smooth skin, schedule that appointment a week before your event. This gives your pores enough time to cool and close, avoiding any tan seepage into your pores (we're talking about those pesky 'strawberry legs' no one wants!). If you're a last-minute shaver, aim for at least 24 hours before tanning to avoid any potential irritation.

 

2 Days Before: Tan-Prep Time

It’s time to start preparing for your tan! That means that it is time to remove any old or residual tan and prepare and prime your skin for your tan application; here’s how: 

Tanning Preparation Tips:

• Use your Deluxe Tan Remover to remove old, residual tan. Apply it over your body 10 minutes before showering. 
• Always exfoliate 24 hours before tanning with your Tan Removing & Skin Polishing Glove. Ensure that you do this the day before you apply your tan to ensure that your pores have enough time to cool and close. 
• Ensure that you remove any shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and moisturiser residue from your skin with your Tan Removing & Skin Polishing Glove at the end of your shower. When you apply the tan, product residue left on your skin can leave water marks on your body, acting as barriers to the tan and preventing it from developing properly. 

 

1 Day Before: Tan Day

Self-tan application tips 

• Apply moisturiser immediately before tanning your hands, wrists, elbows, feet, ankles, and knees to prevent your tan from overdeveloping in these drier skin areas.
• Use a makeup brush to tan your hands and feet. Remove the tan with a makeup wipe after 30 minutes to stop your tan from overdevelopment.
• Avoid excessive perspiration and contact with liquids while the tinted colour guide is on your skin during the development time.
• Once the tinted colour guide is rinsed off, your tan will take 24 hours to fully develop. 
• Avoid moisturiser and oils during the 24 hour development time as it acts as a barrier on your skin and will stop the tan from developing.
